The retail price of self-serve regular gas rose to $2.55 cents per gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey released Sunday. As of Friday, a gallon of midgrade gasoline averaged about $2.66, and premium cost nearly $2.76, according to the survey of 7,000 gas stations across the country. Photo: Since the end of 2006, Swiss citizens have been able to apply for passports which contain an electronically stored copy of their passport photo identifying the passport holder without the possibility of error. The information is stored on a chip that is embedded into the passport and protected against unauthorized access or manipulation. Siemens IT Solutions and Services was commissioned to provide the entire solution for recording the biometric data and processing it for the production of the new passports. FAIRFAX, Va., March 10 -- "If you hear somebody worrying about the future of young African Americans," said Former President William J. Clinton tonight, "tell them to help someone go to college." Clinton's remarks were given as he accepted the United Negro College Fund's (UNCF) highest honor, the Frederick D. Patterson Award, on behalf of himself and President George H. W. Bush for their philanthropic efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The former presidents were presented with the award during UNCF's 63rd anniversary dinner, during which President Clinton delivered the acceptance speech. Since he was unable to attend the event, President Bush accepted his award via a pre-recorded video.
As the nation's oldest and most successful minority higher education assistance organization, the United Negro College Fund's mission is to provide financial support to its 39 member institutions and increase minority degree attainment by reducing financial barriers to college. LAS VEGAS, March 8 -- Sony is advancing wireless digital photo sharing with today's introduction of the 6-megapixel Cyber-shot (R) DSC-G1 digital camera.
The G1 model is Sony's first digital camera with the ability to send photos wirelessly to other Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA)-enabled devices, such as another camera or a PC.
