The Attraction That Inspired a Worldwide Movie Phenomenon Has Hosted Nearly 315,000,000 Guests.

DISNEYLAND RESORT PIRATES

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Disneyland Resort will mark a 40-year milestone of swashbuckling adventure Sunday, March 18, when the classic Pirates of the Caribbean attraction celebrates its 40th anniversary.

DISNEYLAND RESORT PIRATES

PHOTO: NO ESCAPE -- In one of the most memorable scenes in 'Pirates of the Caribbean', a dog holds the keys, and the futures of some undesirables in his mouth. The classic moment was recreated in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. The landmark Disney attraction opened at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. on March 18, 1967.

In addition to entertaining several generations of would-be buccaneers, the original Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean has inspired versions in other Disney theme parks as well as a worldwide movie phenomenon. The Sunday anniversary will be observed with in-park autograph signings by Walt Disney Imagineers involved in the creation of the attraction, and with the debut of some new collectible Pirates-themed items.

Nearly 315,000,000 Disneyland guests have experienced the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction since its 1967 opening. The ever-popular Disneyland icon, the last one created under the direct supervision of Walt Disney himself, launched a wave of pirate mania that has circled the globe. |GlobalGiants.com|

New Computer Game Simulates Global Conflicts : GlobalGiants.com

Strategy First Releases MAKING HISTORY(R): The Calm & The Storm.

STRATEGY FIRST MAKING-HISTORY

MONTREAL -- Introducing what may be the first computer game with equal appeal for devoted gamers and the general public, Strategy First, a wholly owned subsidiary of Silver Star Holdings, Ltd. (NASDAQ:SSTR) , today announced the launch of "MAKING HISTORY: The Calm & The Storm."

MAKING HISTORY is a contest of economics, warfare and diplomacy, challenging players to maneuver through the largest mine field ever created: World War II.

The new multiplayer strategy game is now available at major retail outlets across the U.S. and Canada, including Best Buy, CompUSA, Game Stop and Electronics Boutique. MAKING HISTORY can also be purchased and downloaded at Steam (www.steampowered.com).

Using World War II as the playing field, MAKING HISTORY puts you in charge of real nations confronting annihilation or triumph, with the outcome depending on how you handle history. Skills challenged and honed during game play: International relations, industrial and workforce strategy, political acumen, military planning and action, national defense versus domestic programs, and much more. |GlobalGiants.com|

"MAKING HISTORY is a challenge of brain cells, not just bullets," says Dave McCool, CEO of Muzzy Lane Software. "Players can test new ideas about history, to see what could have happened if world leaders chose a different path. In reliving history you start to think about current global conflicts; being in charge of a nation, dealing with cause and effect on a worldwide scale. It's fun and incredibly eye-opening at the same time."

Over three years in development, MAKING HISTORY represents a new standard for computer games. The Artificial Intelligence in MAKING HISTORY is armed with detailed behavioral models of more than 80 nations playing out across 800 land and sea regions around the world.

Unlike other WWII games, players are not forced to choose sides with the Axis or the Allies. Alliances are shaped and shattered based on unique national interests. And each country is precisely modeled with its real-world economic and military strengths, political ideology, diplomatic tendencies, even its level of technical advancement. Within each country, the major regions feature accurate terrain, infrastructure, natural resources and industrial capabilities.

Operating MAKING HISTORY is smooth and simple thanks to an integrated control panel, a veritable heads-up display of dynamic maps, resources and action areas.

Lifting Chinese Tiger Trade Ban a Death Sentence for Wild Tigers Says WWF : GlobalGiants.com

WORLD WILDLIFE FUND TIGER

Photo: Any easing of the current Chinese ban on trading products made from tigers is likely a death sentence for the endangered cats, according to a new report released today by World Wildlife Fund and TRAFFIC -- the wildlife trade monitoring program of WWF and IUCN. (WWF-Canon/Martin Harvey)

The report warns that Chinese business owners who would profit from the tiger trade are putting increasing pressure on the Chinese government to overturn its successful 1993 ban and allow domestic trade in captive-bred tiger parts for use in traditional medicine and clothing to resume.

The largest multinational conservation organization in the world, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. |GlobalGiants.com|
