Lacoste to Celebrate Olympic Heritage with New Apparel Line

Lacoste

Lacoste, Olympic

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Lacoste have announced the launch of the first exclusive Olympic Heritage lifestyle apparel collection, developed by Lacoste.

Lacoste, the Crocodile brand, is present in 120 countries and offers a wide range of products — apparel, leather goods, fragrances, footwear, eyewear, home wear, watches, and more.

According to IOC, the Olympic Heritage collection is an essential element of the new IOC Global Licensing Strategy, developed in line with Olympic Agenda 2020.

Lacoste’s new men’s clothing and accessories line will feature limited edition collections that will reflect the graphic legacy of legendary Olympic Games and would highlight the 50th anniversaries of the Olympic Winter Games Grenoble 1968, and the Olympic Games Mexico City 1968.

The IOC and Lacoste collaboration will continue until 2020, with a collection developed each season, which will initially be sold, starting this summer, in 10 countries: Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and the UK.

Building on Olympic Agenda 2020 and launched in 2014, the IOC Global Licensing Strategy aims to create a tangible connection to the Olympic Games and Olympism through merchandising programmes that are aligned with the Olympic image and enhance brand value and goodwill. The objective is to strengthen and promote the Olympic brand, not only during the Olympic Games but between Games as well.

Paris: Amber Heard is the new global spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris. “Fearless, witty and smart, defying definition and rejecting convention, meet the Hollywood actress and committed woman making her voice heard,” the brand announced.

A Texas native who grew up training horses, Heard is the first to admit that she never really imagined herself in the world of beauty, though she did dream of beauty pageants as a young girl.

“I have always loved the fun of beauty and the power of transformation,” Amber Heard said. “To become a spokesperson for this dynamic, world-loved beauty brand that has been telling women they were of worth since before I was born, and to join the L’Oréal Paris family of changemakers is such an honor. I feel like these women, my fellow ambassadors, who represent a voice, a power, a movement, and an opinion.”

“Over the years I’ve always thought not just to be an actor, but to use my voice as a platform for making the world a slightly better place and for empowering women in the best way that I can,” Heard elaborated.

Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, L’Oréal Paris Global President, remarked, “Amber Heard is one of a new generation of actresses rewriting the script when it comes to having a voice in the world. The energy Amber Heard brings to her philanthropy, to her advocacy, and to her performances, make her a powerful ambassador for L’Oréal Paris as we take ‘Because I’m Worth It’ beauty into 2018.”
