Auckland, New Zealand, Celebrates New Year's Eve 2019; Welcomes 2020 in Style!
Photos: Auckland, New Zealand, is the first global city in the world to welcome in 2020 - a brand new decade - and it has made sure to celebrate it in style. Inspired by Auckland’s unique Maori heritage, the sound of a conch heralded the arrival of the New Year and began the countdown activation that captured several Auckland landmarks. Around the harbor city, Auckland War Memorial Museum, the Sky Tower and Auckland Harbour Bridge lighted up in unison for the midnight moment, supported by dazzling fireworks and traditional and contemporary street performances.
