United Nations, New York

Photo: New York City has submitted a review of its progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the United Nations, becoming the first city in the world to report directly to the international community on the status of its efforts to reach the goals by 2030. In recognition of this, Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York City, proclaimed Wednesday (11 July) as Global Goals Day in the city, a recurring annual day.
