High-speed Line (LGV) for Lorrain France Inaugurated

Lorraine Builds Its Future at High Speed.

HIGH SPEED LINE LGV LORRAIN FRANCE

PARIS, March 15 -- On March 15, 2007, the Lorraine Region inaugurated, along with French National Railways (Réseau Ferré de France), the first phase of a high-speed rail link (Ligne Grande Vitesse) connecting Vaires-sur-Marne (Seine-et-Marne) to Baudrecourt (Moselle-Lorraine). Starting in June 2007, the East European TGV will cover the first 300 kilometers of the LGV at a record speed of 320 km/hr. On this occasion, the longest ever string of Bengal lights lit up the LGV's route with 3,000 red torches. A spectacular hot air balloon sporting the colors of Lorraine illuminated the Jaulny viaduct (Meurthe-et-Moselle). |GlobalGiants.com|
